Egg %26amp; dairy-free chocolate cake





1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour


1/2 teaspoon salt


1 cup white sugar


1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder


1 teaspoon baking soda


5 tablespoons vegetable oil


1 tablespoon white vinegar


1 teaspoon vanilla extract


1 cup cold water


1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips





Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan





In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking soda. Mix well with a fork, then stir in oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract. When dry ingredients are thoroughly moistened, pour in cold water and stir until batter is smooth. Stir in chocolate chips and pour batter into prepared pan.





Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on a rack.
SPICE CAKE


(NO EGG, BUTTER OR MILK)





1 lb. raisins


3 tbsp. shortening


3 c. hot water


2 c. sugar


1 tsp. cinnamon


3/4 tsp. ginger


1/2 tsp. cloves


3 1/2 c. flour


1 c. chopped nuts


2 tsp. baking soda


1/2 tsp. salt


1/4 c. warm water





Combine first 7 ingredients together and simmer for 10 minutes.


Allow mixture to cool.


When cool stir in flour and nuts.


In a bowl mix together soda, salt and water, and stir into cake batter.





Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes


or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.





Does not need frosting








Cocoa Cake


NO EGG AND NO MILK


3 c. flour


1/2 tsp. baking soda


2 tbsp. vinegar


2 c. water


2 c. sugar


5 tbsp. Hershey cocoa


3/4 c. oil


2 tbsp. vanilla





Beat together until smooth.


Bake in well greased layer pans and frost with favorite icing.


Bake at 350 degrees until toothpick comes out clean.

2 cups hot water


2 cups mayonnaise


2 teaspoons vanilla extract


2 cups white sugar


4 cups all-purpose flour


2 teaspoons baking soda


6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder




















DIRECTIONS


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.


Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa and baking soda. Add mayonnaise, water, and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Pour into prepared pan.


Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), 30-35 minutes or until done
damn i'd like to help out, but i think a real cake should contain eggs.


anything that's a pastry needs eggs. even pancakes should have eggs.


eggs are what keep a cake fluffy and tasty.
