Help needed for chocolate cake recipe.?

When you make a chocolate cake recipe which includes cocoa powder, can you just use drinking chocolate or Nestl茅 chocolate milk powder? I want to make chocolate cake, but don't know whether I can use either of the above powders. All help appreciated. If you can, will it tast the same?Help needed for chocolate cake recipe.?

There is too much sugar in the drink mix. There is next to no real chocolate in there either. It is too sweet and the excess sugar could make the cake burn.

The drink mix powders contain a lot of sugar and little actual chocolate, and often contain things like milk solids and hydrogenated oils. I would definitely recommend using actual cocoa powder. The drink mix will alter the recipe for sure, I'm sure it would taste different than intended and not be nearly as good. A container of cocoa powder is only about $3 and should last a little while, it's worth the trip to the market if you really want your cake to turn out right.
yea, if its powdered, if its like hershey syrup just cut the milk a little, weird because my sis just made a cake using hot fusges sauce, it was SOOOOO delish, only thing it will be a bit richer, but hey rich is always good right!! God Bless
use Dutch processed cocoa not drinking chocolate..it has the highest percentage of chocolate for real tasting melt in your mouth chocolate cake...or you can use chocolate with at least 70% cocoa from groceries...
When a recipe calls for COCOA, that's just what it means - not drinking chocolate which is something else (and full of sugar and other sweeteners) which could easily wreck the results.
I have used both, only because I needed to bake a cake and had no cocoa powder. And the result was nowhere near as good with chocolate powder. I would recommend you stick with real cocoa powder.
The powders might be a bit sweet as cocoa is unsweetened
yes thats fine, i always use normal everyday drinking chocolate in mine.
