I need a really good Hawaiian cocoa nut cake recipe?

i`m from Hawaii but we don`t call it Hawaiian Cocoa nut cake.


It`s actually called Haupia cake.


%26amp; Coconut is not spelled ';cocoa nut';


but here`s one my grandma makes but not necessarily Haupia cake:





HAWAIIAN COCONUT CAKE





1 box yellow cake mix


1 (8 oz.) cream cheese


1 can coconut milk or 1 pkg. mixed with 2 c. water


1 box instant vanilla pudding


1 can crushed pineapple, drained


1 container Cool Whip


1 can coconut





Bake cake mix according to directions in 9x13 inch pan. Mix cream cheese, coconut milk and pudding and spread on cake. Arrange drained pineapple on cream cheese mixture. Put Cool Whip on top of pineapple and coconut on top of Cool Whip. It's Hawaiian, it's delicious.I need a really good Hawaiian cocoa nut cake recipe?

3 ounces cream cheese

1/2 teaspoon vanilla


1/2 cup flaked coconut, toasted

Pineapple Cakes


Prepare and bake cake according to package directions, using a greased 13x9inch baking pan.


Cool.


In a bowl whisk together milk and pudding mix; let stand to thicken.


stir in pineapple.


Spread over cake.


Prepare whipped topping according to package directions; set aside.


In a mixing bowl beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.


Beat in 1 cup whipped topping.


Fold in remaining topping.


Spread over pudding.


Sprinkle with coconut.

Hawaiian Coconut Cake Recipe





Ingredients:


***Cake***


1 cup butter, softened


2 cups sugar


4 large eggs


2 3/4 cups all purpose flour, shifed


2 teaspoons baking powder


1 teaspoon salt


1 cup milk


1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract


2 tablespoons sugar


1/4 cup coconut milk


***Frosting and Filling***


2 1/2 cups sour cream


2 1/2 cups sugar


1/2 teaspoon almond extract


2 cups coconut


8 ounces whipped topping


1/2 cup cream of coconut








Directions:





For cake: Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add 2 cups sugar, beating well. Add eggs 1 at a time beating until blended after each addition.





Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to butter mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat at low speed until blended after each addition. Stir in flavorings. Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 9'; round cakepans.





Bake at 350 degrees (325 for dark pans) for 20 to 25 minutes or until a wooden pick comes out clean when inserted in the center of cake. Cool in pans on wire rack for 10 minutes; remove from pans, and cool on wire racks.





Combine 2 Tablespoons sugar with coconut milk, heat in microwave for 30 seconds and stir to dissolve sugar. Brush each layer with the coconut mixture.





FROSTING AND FILLING: Stir sour cream, sugar, extract and coconut in a bowl, mix well (mixture will be thin). Reserve one cup for later.





Put bottom cake layer on cake plate frost with filling, add the second layer and repeat, top with last layer. Add whipped topping and cream of coconut to reserved frosting. Frost top and sides; add additional coconut to top and sides as well. Refrigerate for several hours before serving.





This recipe for Hawaiian Coconut Cake serves/makes 12
Not sure what cake you are talking about.





There is haupia cake which is made with coconut milk in the frosting and filling and white cake (no shredded coconut involved).





Then there is coconut cake that is white cake with white frosting and shredded coconut.





Need more info.
