Mississippi Mud Cake recipe help?

i have a recipe for mississippi mud cake and for the icing it calls for...


1/2 cup butter or 1 stick


1/3 cup coccoa


1/2 cup milk


1 box of powdered sugar and


1 teaspoon vanilla





I dont know how much a boz of powdered sugar is, and i only have a bag of powdered sugar is. Does anybody know how many ounces of powderes sugar there is or how many pounds on average in an average box of powdered sugar?Mississippi Mud Cake recipe help?
It is probably 1 pound of powdered sugar. I think a 1 pound package is the most common.

Your bag of powdered sugar is usually 2 pounds. The box is usually 1 pound. I have never gone wrong when I have used half of a bag when a recipe calls for a box.

put everything together except the powdered sugar and then slowly add the powdered sugar...i wouldn't put all of the milk in either. put in about half of the milk and then add the powdered sugar and then more milk...keep going like that until you get it the right consistency.
